HIS PAIN OUR GAIN

No, don’t crucify yourself anymore

He has taken your place to bear your sins galore

Your penalty is quashed

By His blood your sins are washed

No, you can’t earn your salvation

Can’t by yourself get rid of sin’s damnation

‘coz by grace alone has it been given

You are graciously forever forgiven

No, your noble deeds

Can’t offer what your soul needs

Sin’s price is much heavy indeed

You from that bondage need to be freed

No, your riches are of no good

You’ve grossly misunderstood

It’s a fallacious thought to entertain

‘coz through faith alone can you His grace attain

No, don’t attempt to atone

For sins that Jesus for you has already borne

The price is paid

They will no longer on you be laid

No, don’t bear your burden anyone

It’s not worth the strain that makes you sore

Surrender at the Saviour’s feet

You’ll taste the rest and the love that’s ever so sweet

Oh yes, the Love that words cannot describe

The Peace that no physician can prescribe

And the Joy that no one can dare proscribe

Is all yours to eternally subscribe!

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:7-8)

  1. What an amazing poem to exalt His work on the Cross of Calvary – for you, for me and for the whole world, people from past, present and those who are yet to be borne. We actually don’t have to do anything but to trust in His act that He performed around 2000 years ago. Hallelujah!

God bless you, *Rajnandini* for this extraordinary poem.
