The sun-kissed stone stands rolled away
As the night leads on to a glorious day
The empty tomb stares with it’s mouth wide open
With awe and reverence to Christ the risen
Death has been conquered
The curse over mankind forever broken and shattered
Sin’s sting flaunts no more any strength
For the Creator has smashed it from arm’s length
He gave up His Spirit
When He hung on the Cross
And took it back again
Demonstrating death’s defeat and loss
Gone are the hours of grieving and mourning
The resurrected Saviour calls for merry rejoicing
The verity of Christ’s resurrection
Pronounces the assured hope of an eternal union
Over every sickness the power of His resurrection reigns
He heals all heartaches and gut-wrenching pains
Peace untold He lovingly bestows
To the heart crushed with manifold sorrows
He hearkens every cry and call
Whether by day or by nightfall
The warmth of His Presence is oh so comforting
Nothing whatsoever can be so enthralling
If Jesus were not alive
Sin’s judgement wouldn’t let us survive
‘Coz vicious talons pull us unawares
To the roaring den of flames and flares
Rejoice ye all today
The Saviour lives to all your fears allay
Lo! The grave is empty
Declaring to the world a victory for which Jesus has paid the exorbitant bounty
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”” (John 11:25)
